ANDOVER, MA – Today, education leaders from across the Third District announced their support for Democratic congressional candidate Dan Koh. Koh received endorsements from Westford School Committee member Gloria Miller,  Vice-Chair of the Assabet Valley Regional School Committee Peggy Ayres, Chelmsford School Committee member Barbara Skaar, Monty Tech Regional School Committee member and former Gardner School Committee member Matt Vance, and former Chelmsford School Committee member and longtime teacher Angelo Taranto.

The endorsements underscore the widespread support Koh has received from school committee members, superintendents, teachers, and other education leaders. Earlier in the campaign, Koh rolled out a detailed education policy platform, focused on implementing universal Pre-K, supporting teacher development programs, and reducing student debt.

“I am honored by the groundswell of support that I have received from education advocates throughout the district,” said Koh. “Right now, Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos is trying to implement policies that will hurt public schools and limit access to higher education. We need to fight back against this dangerous agenda, and invest in our students and teachers. I have loved hearing from local community leaders about how we can strengthen our public education system and make sure everyone can get ahead.”

Koh has also received endorsements from Chairwoman of the Acton-Boxborough Regional School Committee Diane Baum,  Vice Chair of the Methuen School Committee Nicholas DiZoglio, Fitchburg School Committee member Jean LaBelle-Pierce, former Chairwoman of the Hudson School Committee Michele Tousignant Dufour, Methuen School Committee member Susan Nicholson, former Chairwoman of the Andover School Committee Debra Silberstein, Gardner School Committee member James Abare, former Hudson School Committee member and principal George Calnan, former Superintendent of Andover Public Schools Claudia Bach, Methuen School Committee member Robert Vogler, and Westford Selectman and former Westford School Committee member Tom Clay.
